Discipleship/Evangelism

Communicating God’s Word

It is crucially important that we as Christ followers not only know the love of Jesus, but share it also. Reaching out to adults and children could potentially save their souls. This is truly one of my favorite parts about being a Christ follower. Speaking and sharing the love of Christ is safe, healing, and life changing. Talking about Jesus never gets old!

  • Evangelism:

“He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.” Mark 16:15

“Day after day, in the temple courts and from house to house, they never stopped teaching and proclaiming the good news that Jesus is the Messiah.” Acts 5:42

“He commanded us to preach to the people and to testify that he is the one whom God appointed as judge of the living and the dead.” Acts 10:42

for, Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved. How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them?” –Romans 10:13-14 NIV

“If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal.” 1 Corinthians‬ ‭13:1‬ ‭NIV‬‬

For what we preach is not ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord, and ourselves as your servants for Jesus’ sake.” 2 Corinthians 4:5

“But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect,” 1 Peter 3:15 NIV

“Go…make disciples” (go and tell)

  • Discipleship:

“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” Matthew 28:19-20 NIV

“Teaching them…everything”

“Therefore let us move beyond the elementary teachings about Christ and be taken forward to maturity, not laying again the foundation of repentance from acts that lead to death, and of faith in God,” Hebrews 6:1 NIV

“But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and forever! Amen.” 2 Peter 3:18 NIV
