Battle Cry– God’s armor

Today I write for the weak at heart, the ones whose heads are heavy, and those who are sinking like a rock in their troubles.

If I warned you it is going to hurt would you still join the war? Are you willing to be lead when you are blind? If I warned you it is going to be something you have to do every day would you keep reading? (see: 1 Peter 4:12-13)

Are you ready to be a warrior, brave, a light in the dark, to be lead by the Holy light?

What do you bring to the table today?

What chains have you tied down? Dreams that have been washed away, a failed hope, fear, sorrow, pain, anxiety? Whatever it is I ask that at this very moment you lay it down and pray a prayer with me.

Dear Heavenly Father, today I bring… you fill in blank to you and am asking for your mighty strength in return. Help me to be a warrior today and receive what it is that you have for me, whatever it may be. I call on you in love, to give you all glory and honor today Jesus. In your HOLY name I pray Jesus, Amen.

 This is it.

The troubles that seem endless and the poison that is screaming around in your head telling you lies will be washed away.  These are the very things God uses.

He waits for us to run to Him when the water seems too deep, so he can rescue us and give us hope in him.

He will  pick you up, carry you, strengthen you, guard you, give you hope, and give you someone to count on.

There is no going back after this, once you receive this into your heart God will set you free from the very thing you prayed your prayer for.

Lift your head and give in to what the Lord has to offer you in this very moment.

Why is Baptism important?

Why is anything God says important?

How can we believe and desire to live only a mere part of scripture? It is almost as if some of us pick and choose which scriptures we want to believe and follow through.

Did we forget that every book, verse, and word in The Holy Bible is crucial to a holy life, an eternal life, and a life with Jesus Christ himself? Or did we just start ignoring that voice of truth in our minds reminding us of the discipline we sometimes hate to hear?

In that case, baptism is just another important aspect that we need to follow.

I understand it is not easy for everyone to make that choice for themselves when the devil is in your ear telling you that you are unworthy, which is why I want to remind you of how worthy you are before I inform you of the importance of baptism.

We are told over and over how Jesus is our savior, but what does that actually mean? It means that God himself saw the suffering that we as people on earth face every day. He poured out his mighty spirit unto a virgin and gave her a child born into this sinful world just as we are and sent him out to remind us of the word and promises from OUR father.

In case that just seems completely normal to you, think about it– would you send your only Son into the world to be tortured, beaten, falsely accused, and hung on a cross?

Despite all the wrong things done to Jesus, he still asked his father, our father to forgive us (Luke 23:34). Has anything changed since that day? Well of course much has changed, but have the promises of God changed? God forbid it. Despite Jesus dying on the cross and being buried, he still rose again with the same love if not more in his heart for us.

You might be thinking by now this is a long read, yet nothing to do with baptism, but I promise I am heading somewhere.

When he rose again what is it that Jesus himself told his disciples (Luke 24:47)? And in return what was it that he gave them? The promises of God in return for our repantance (Luke 24:49).

Now if Jesus can die, rise again, and still give us the promises of God, then we should be able to give ourselves to him.

Baptism is a beautiful choice.

It is the choice of surrender, a devotion that you yourself have chosen to give over to Jesus.

You are accepting all he has to offer and asking for forgiveness for all you have done.

Well if The Bible says I’m saved if I just confess with my mouth that Jesus is Lord (Romans 10:9) then why is it important to be baptized?

How can you confess if you don’t believe? How can you believe without receiving, and how can you receive without making a choice to receive him? (Mark 16:16)

The bottom line is when you choose to receive Jesus in your heart he gives you something POWERFUL.

He gives you his spirit.

He gives you gifts, promises, salvation, and an eternal life.

I don’t know about you, but I most certainly want to live forever with a loving God, a loving father, and a forgiving father.

You are more than your past choices and are remade into a new person when you wash yourself clean in the water.

By HIS name you are made new.

IN JESUS NAME, you are made new.

You are forgiven, you are strengthened, you are restored, and you are given a miraculous gift.

The gift of The Holy Spirit, the same spirit that is within Jesus Christ himself.

I cannot comprehend all the things people go through, but I know someone who does understand. He understands your suffering, your hurt, your loss, your Temptation.

He understands.

Devoting your life to Jesus, starting with asking for forgiveness is one of the best choices you will make and have ever made.

Put on your clothing of Christ (Galatians 3:26-27) and let him do the rest.

Someone has brought to my attention that the term baptism is referred to in a couple different ways in the Bible and I would like to clarify which I am talking about.

Immersion. The dunking under water in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission or forgiveness of your sins, so that you may receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit, which comes from being water baptized in general. First the repentance than HIS spirit will flood you.

I do not mean this boastfully, but I have been baptized four times, and yet each time has meant something different for me. Yes one time is all it takes and I know that, but coming out of the water knowing my decision I made is such an overwhelming rush. From warm soothing water to freezing cold water I have buried my sins away. I wish I could put into vivid detail how it feels coming out of the water after knowing you just made a life changing experience for yourself, but I think it is one you have to experience on your own(;

Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.” And they divided up his clothes by casting lots. Luke 23:34 NIV

“And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.” Luke 24:47 KJV

“And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high.” Luke 24:49 NIV

“If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” Romans 10:9 NIV

“Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned.” Mark 16:16 NIV

So in Christ Jesus you are all children of God through faith, for all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ.” Galatians 3:26-27 NIV

“Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you WILL receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. The promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off—for all whom the Lord our God will call.”” Acts 2:38-39 NIV

““I baptize you with water for repentance. But after me comes one who is more powerful than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.”

-Matthew 3:11

“As soon as Jesus was baptized, he went up out of the water. At that moment heaven was opened, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting on him.”

-Matthew 3:16

““As they traveled along the road, they came to some water and the eunuch said, “Look, here is water. What can stand in the way of my being baptized?”

And he gave orders to stop the chariot. Then both Philip and the eunuch went down into the water and Philip baptized him. When they came up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord suddenly took Philip away, and the eunuch did not see him again, but went on his way rejoicing.”

Acts 8:36, 38-39 NIV

“We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.”

Romans 6:4

“And now what are you waiting for? Get up, be baptized and wash your sins away, calling on his name.”

Acts 22:16 NIV

Have you been taking Him for granted?

Seeing Jesus in the face of others

As the Friday morning sunrise will be here before we know it God decided to show himself to me tonight–just when I thought this week was going to end on a somewhat anxious note.

Lately I have felt this constant reminder of “just be patient” and yet I still find myself getting anxious. All week I have been nothing but anxious for things that I was supposed to have already given over to Jesus. But just as I was getting ready to call it a night the Lord showed himself to me through another.

I have recently hung a poster on my door showing off my love for Jesus- as I opened the door I saw a guy reading it. After a intriguing conversation I went inside to take it all in. This man had giving me a beautiful idea towards my organization that was no doubt a gift of the Lord.

I learned a few things tonight that I have been taking for granted lately.

  1. God’s love is immeasurable and unfathomable!
  2. No matter what we are going through He is with us every step.
  3. It is okay to be imperfect–that is the reason for his love.
  4. Even when you are anxious God is still working FOR YOU!
  5. The Holy Spirit is alive in others as well as ourselves!
  6. Always be prepared, because you never know when you need to share the Gospel.
  7. Boast in the Lord in all ways.

“Better a patient person than a warrior,
one with self-control than one who takes a city.” Proverbs 16:32

Stay tuned for the exciting idea from the kind-hearted soul I met tonight.

Glory to God

Be Careful!

This is a little out of my comfort zone when writing but I feel like it is something that needs to be addressed.

Have you ever been exposed to something that stuck with you from then on?

Exposure to impure things can impact you for the rest of your life. The younger the person the more important it is to make sure they are only being exposed to godliness and holiness.

Today as I went to the laundry mat to wash clothes– typical college life, I heard something that caught my attention. Keep in mind that I rarely watch tv anymore so I don’t know the full extents of what is being played across the world and this may only be one example. The more I kept trying to ignore the ignorance, the more Jesus kept anointing me with the power to share.

The word “energy” is what originally sparked my attention. A lot of the times when the word energy is being thrown around, I truly believe people do not understand what they are peaking their nose into. As I continued to listen to the show on Travel TV, I will not lie I was disgusted at first. The more I listened all I could feel was sadness. The people on tv clearly knew what they were dipping their toes in as they were “looking for energies” and “calling to spirits and witches,” this is nothing but a result of pure evil and witchcraft. The people and even children who will encounter and have encountered shows like these are not only being taught that witchcraft is okay, but are in result being EXPOSED to something they have no business every witnessing.

By now you may be wondering how does she know this.

I feel it is important to always honest with y’all in order to truly reach people and help them towards Christ. A little backstory about my encountered knowledge. I was a child that was exposed too early in life to things that come to my mind from time to time. The day I devoted my life to Christ he began to take my mind away from those things, and taught me how to look for signs of those things through scripture and a great gift of the Holy Ghost known as a discernment– one I am forever thankful for.

God warns us to refrain from any kind of wickedness but I feel strongly that it is extremely important to stay away from anything that is enticing the devil. Everything God has made the devil has made a copy, be careful to not be easily fooled but the devil’s copy.

It is vitally important that we guard ourselves and those around us. We have all we need with our Lord Jesus Christ, the one who holds the keys to hell. We do not need to consult or entice these evil spirits. This world is exceedingly spiritual and it is important to keep our spirit guided by the only spirit that matters, the only one that promises us ETERNAL LIFE– The Holy Spirit.

“Do not defile yourselves by turning to mediums or to those who consult the spirits of the dead. I am the Lord your God.” Leviticus 19:31

“Stay alert! Watch out for your great enemy, the devil. He prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour.” 1 Peter 5:8

When you follow the desires of your sinful nature, the results are very clear: sexual immorality, impurity, lustful pleasures,  idolatry, sorcery, hostility, quarreling, jealousy, outbursts of anger, selfish ambition, dissension, division,  envy, drunkenness, wild parties, and other sins like these. Let me tell you again, as I have before, that anyone living that sort of life will not inherit the Kingdom of God.” Galatians 5:19-21

“Someone may say to you, “Let’s ask the mediums and those who consult the spirits of the dead. With their whisperings and mutterings, they will tell us what to do.” But shouldn’t people ask God for guidance? Should the living seek guidance from the dead?

Look to God’s instructions and teachings! People who contradict his word are completely in the dark.  They will go from one place to another, weary and hungry. And because they are hungry, they will rage and curse their king and their God. They will look up to heaven and down at the earth, but wherever they look, there will be trouble and anguish and dark despair. They will be thrown out into the darkness.” Isaiah 8:19-22

I am sad for the people who will be and have been exposed to something that is being displayed as acceptable. I know this is only one example of wickedness on the world, but today I am addressing the issue and I hope you will too by sharing this with as many people as you can! Keep a sharp mind towards the Lord.

A lovely day

Do you ever wake up knowing it is going to be a great day because the sun is out and God is good? Something about the name Jesus can get your blood pumping to the start of a good day. My real question is, why do we not wake up with this spirit every morning?

Our restless hearts make us forget that all we have to do is call upon the name of Jesus, and he is listening. Humbling ourselves every morning with prayer and praise can instantly bring peace to our entire day. I want to encourage everyone to start a challenge of Prayer. For the month of February, every morning when you awake– PRAY!

If your days have seemed to drag or maybe you feel as if there is not enough hours in the day– PRAY, PRAY, PRAY! The Lord hears all of our prayers and he is often waiting for us to just stop all of our business and ask him for help through his Holy Spirit. I found myself telling a co-woker just the other day “I just feel like there is not enough time in the day.” The Lord quickly reminded me of 2 Peter 3:8. This verse quickly reassured me that in the Kingdom of The Lord, time is meaningless– so why was I worried about it here on earth? It can be somewhat effortless for our minds to start worrying first thing in the morning when we awake, which leads to worry throughout the day. What time do I have to be there? How much money is in my account? What is my schedule like today, tomorrow, next week. All of these things play a role in our everyday life– but God does not intend for us to wake up worrying about them, or even worrying about them at all for that matter. If we can start every morning with prayer and thanksgiving God will undoubtedly lead our day with his anointing and strength for whatever life has for us. God is faithful and loves to hear our prayers. Prayer is truly meaningful to Jesus– there is power in every prayer. Let God have the opportunity to lead your day!

If you have a prayer that you would like an extra person praying for, I would love to pray with you.

“But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day.” 2 Peter 3:8

Go and Tell

Today I would like to encourage everyone to evangelize. Go and share something God has recently done for you as an act of his endless grace. Whether big or small, go and share with at least one person something unique God has worked in your life. Feel free to share with as many people as God places on your heart! God has recently worked in my life in so many great ways. This example may seem silly to some, and you may ask does God really care about those things? The answer is Yes! God hears every word spoken to him and not spoken to him, and he loves to answer us. I love to believe Jesus answers our prayers in accordance to our personality! God truly knows me best. Last Wednesday night I was in a rush to get to church, and beyond hungry– the quickest thing I could grab was a bag of blueberries. As I was on my way to church eating my blueberries I dropped one in my car. I immediately began to pray “Jesus please don’t let me squish this blueberry in my car.” When I arrived at church I could not find the blueberry anywhere– I figured it was somewhere lost and smushed. A few days later after I totally forgot about the incident, I saw the blueberry lying in my cupholder un-smushed. I immediately began to praise Jesus for his divine sense of humor. Jesus works in all around ways we would never expect, but he knows each and every one of us very well. Try and remember a time Jesus answered a prayer in a unique way– I encourage you to share with someone (including me.) For here on I encourage you to watch for the remarkable ways God shows himself to you. Our God is an awesome God–with a sense of humor.

“He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.” -Mark 16:15

Where do you belong?

1 Peter 4:12-16

“Dear friends, do not be surprised at the fiery ordeal that has come on you to test you, as though something strange were happening to you. But rejoice inasmuch as you participate in the sufferings of Christ, so that you may be overjoyed when his glory is revealed. If you are insulted because of the name of Christ, you are blessed, for the Spirit of glory and of God rests on you. If you suffer, it should not be as a murderer or thief or any other kind of criminal, or even as a meddler. However, if you suffer as a Christian, do not be ashamed, but praise God that you bear that name.”

Do you ever find yourself conflicted between “do what is best for you” and “what would Jesus want you to do?” It is so easy to get caught up between the two, especially when many people around you are giving you the wrong advice. Do not get me wrong, the same people that tell you “do what is best for you” may have what they think to be “the best intentions” for you. But, is anyone’s intentions better than our God Almighty? I first want to give two scenarios for you to keep in the back of your mind.

Background: Both Molly and Jim have one particular thing in common. Both of them have turned their lives to Christ.

Scenario 1: Molly’s mom Beth has been addicted to drugs since before Molly was born. Beth and Molly were in the same rehabilitation center together when molly was 4 months old and born addicted to cocaine.

Scenario 2: Jim’s mom Alena has been facing alcohol abuse for 12 years. His mom not only has an alcohol addiction, but she fights manic bi-polar disorder. With Alena’s disorder, she feels the need to take an occasional Xanax to “calm herself down.” On the days that Alena does not have her medication or self-medication, she can get very psychically abusive with Jim.

Conclusion: Being grown and moved away from home, both Molly and Jim have devoted their lives, marriages, and parenting towards Jesus Christ. Recently and all of the sudden both Molly’s and Jim’s mother would like to be a part of their lives again now. Both mothers are now sober and Jim’s mom is in anger management classes. Neither of their mothers have gave a sincere apology other than “I’m sorry, I just needed a minute. Could we start over?”

If you have not noticed by now, both Molly and Jim are conflicted with an unsettling situation.

Glory to God in the highest💫

Today I would like to take a few moments to give God a little more glory and credit than I have been recently.

Today was a tough one for me, and I was ready to get home and go straight to bed so nothing else would “stress me out,” I told myself. After stopping to check the mail before getting home I was surprised at what I had received. A letter from my college– one I figured to be another piece of junk mail was actually an uplifting letter. The letter stated, that I have been added to the Dean’s list. My immediate reaction was tears rolling down my face. I have not been awarded anything admirable in my eyes since the 4th grade. The only thing I could think in my mind is, “Jesus, what have you done? You have brought me so far in life, when I am so underserving.” Although I was no doubt happy for myself, I had to stop and give God his deserving glory. It is always on the days that seem the gloomiest, and God seems the farthest that he shines his love and glory like a radiant beam of sunshine. I wish it did not always take a moment standing on a mountain to give God the glory and praise. Ask yourselves is there anything in your life that God has worked to your advantage that you may not have given him the credit for? Whether you are standing on a mountain today, or walking through a valley stop and take a moment to give God the glory. God is faithful–so if you are standing in the valley today, just know God is getting ready to do great things in your life!

Making Jesus your source of Love

Dear Jesus, I pray anyone who reads this takes it in and reflects it inwardly and outwardly for your glory.

JESUS! What a powerful and sweet name. There is truly no other name with such authority.

“No one is like you, Lord;
you are great,
and your name is mighty in power” Jeremiah 10:6.

Ponder this question while reading:

What is your main source of love? Maybe your love comes from reading, biking, or even shopping. After this I hope everyone will be able to boldly affirm their main love source as Jesus Christ himself.

Even though, Jesus does not need us we need him desperately. Despite our need for him, there is nothing that we can bring or have brought to Jesus that he needs. We owe him everything to him and he owes us nothing. Why do we often expect things in return? Selfishness. When we lose sight of making God our love source we start making other people or, even material things our source of love. Yet, since God is love he chooses to provide and be faithful to us–also showing us forgiveness for this selfishness. His grace and mercy shown to us is like no other, all because of his deep love for us. He is Jehovahjireh. Whatever it is we need the Lord is always faithful to provide through grace and blessings. We often partake in the idea that we chose him, but that could not be farther from the truth. “You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit—fruit that will last—and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you” John 15:16. Men and women of God stop listing Jesus as the second one in your heart and start placing him as first. Remember he already chose you. Do not place him on the back burner of your heart, for he is an all-knowing, and powerful God. He already knows what we are going to say or what we may be thinking even before we know ourselves– so there is no point and trying to hide it from him. Give Jesus the glory he deserves, by not only loving like him, but making him your source of love. You will be blessed abundantly through his love when you take this step with him. If God has placed something on your heart that you have been using as a source of love, then what better time to pray a prayer of repentance.

Dear Jesus,

Thank you for this message today and I hear your words. I am sorry that I have been selfish recently or in the past, but I ask that you forgive my selfishness. Whatever I have placed at the top of my heart in the place of you I ask that you reign over it. You are a powerful and mighty God, and there is no point in trying to place things ahead of you. You are the Alpha and Omega, the one who was, and is, and is to come. I give you all the praise and glory Jesus. From this moment on, I will place you as number ONE in my heart and the reason that I love while loving like you. THANK YOU FOR YOUR WORD AND FOR YOUR FORGIVNESS!

In Jesus name,

“Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.” Luke 6:38

Create in me a pure heart, O God,
and renew a steadfast spirit within me.” Psalms 51:10

Before a word is on my tongue
you, Lord, know it completely.” Psalms 139:4

“I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, “who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty.” Revelation 1:8

“And Abraham called the name of that place Jehovahjireh: as it is said to this day, In the mount of the Lord it shall be seen.” Genesis 22:14

“Who has ever given to God,
that God should repay them?” Romans 11:35

Who has a claim against me that I must pay?
Everything under heaven belongs to me.” Job 41:11

New Years Resolution

As this year comes to an end I want to encourage all of you to begin the new year with positivity, and trust in the Lord.

“On the contrary, we speak as those approved by God to be entrusted with the gospel. We are not trying to please people but God, who tests our hearts.” – 1 Thessalonians 2:4 NIV

If we begin the New Year with trust in God we are bound to have a blessed New Year. 2017 may have been full of worry, fear, doubt, or even a great deal of sin but now we must cast all the un-holiness away. We can take a more bold step towards the Lord. God is not worried about your past, or even what you did yesterday– he is more concerned with your spiritual growth towards him. It is time we stop making excuses and give God our attention. I encourage everyone to unplug, un-connect, and do something well pleasing in the sight of the Lord. It may not be taking a break from social media that God places on your heart, maybe you are not a huge social media person. Whatever the Lord lays on your heart in this upcoming year I encourage greatly for you to do so. Maybe you have found yourself full of doubt and worry, a simple 15 minute break from your day, each-day to hand your troubles and cares over to God will help tremendously. We all have daily necessities and things to do, but that does not mean we should worry about them or forget the real importance. Turning the attention off of ourselves and onto Jesus is what we need to be doing. God convicted me just this morning while making a bowl of cereal. I questioned a response he had given me and I asked “Lord how do I know it is you talking and not just myself spouting off?” The Lord replied “when you hear words of hope I am speaking to you, if you hear words of doubt then you know those are not my words.” I really pondered this response from the Lord, because we can often find ourselves questioning whether or not it is Jesus speaking to us. With this year ending and the New Year starting I want to remind everyone to be hopeful and trusting in the Lord. Whether or not your 2017 went as planned, walk into 2018 asking God to direct your plans with his will. This upcoming year is going to be full of blessings from the Lord so keep praising him.
