Who you are to Christ–a friendly reminder

Christ Bell

Hello wonderful Christ followers. A special woman gave me an interesting picture with some beautiful scriptures. I wanted share as a friendly reminder. Glory to God.

I am a child of God

“Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God–”John 1:12 NIV

I am Christ’s friend

“I no long call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my father I have made known to you.” John 15:15 NIV

I am united with the Lord

“But whoever is united with the Lord is one with him in spirit” 1 Corinthians 6:17 NIV

I am bought with a price

“Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies.” 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 NIV

I am a saint (set apart for God)

“Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus by the will of God, To God’s holy people in Ephesus, the faithful in Christ Jesus:” Ephesians 1:1 NIV

I am a personal witness of Christ

“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” Acts 1:8 NIV

I am the salt and light of the earth

“You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot. You are the light of the world. A town on a hill cannot be hidden.” Matthew 5:13-14 NIV

I am a member of the body of Christ

“Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it.” 1 Corinthians 12:27 NIV

I am free forever from condemnation

“Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you free from the law of sin and death.” Romans 8:1-2 NIV

I am a citizen of Heaven. I am significant

“But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ.” Philippians 3:20 NIV

I am free from any charge against me

“What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all– how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things? Who will bring any charge against those whom God has chosen? It is God who died– more than that, who was raised to life– is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us.” Romans 8:31-34 NIV

I am a minister of reconciliation for God

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here! All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting people’s sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation. We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God. God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become righteousness of God.” 2 Corinthians 5:17-21 NIV

I am seated with Christ in the heavenly realms

“And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus,” Ephesians 2:6 NIV

I cannot be separated from the love of God

“Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword?

As it is written

For your sake we face death all day long;

We are considered as sheep to be slaughtered.

No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus of Lord.” Romans 8:35-39 NIV

I am established, anointed, sealed by God

“Now it is God who makes both us and you stand firm in Christ. He anointed us, set his seal of ownership on us, and put his Spirit in our hearts as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come.” 2 Corinthians 1:21-22 NIV

I am assured all things work together for good

“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” Romans 8:28 NIV

I have been chosen and appointed to bear fruit

“You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit– fruit that will last– and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you” John 15:16 NIV

I may approach God with freedom and confidence

“In him and through faith in him we may approach God with freedom and confidence.” Ephesians 3:12 NIV

I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me

“I can do all this through him who gives me strength.” Philippians 4:13 NIV

I am the branch of the true vine, a channel of His life

“I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful. You are already clean because of word I have spoken to you. Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me.

I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing” John 15:1-5 NIV

I am God’s temple

“Don’t you know that you yourselves are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit dwells in your midst?” 1 Corinthians 3:16 NIV

I am complete in Christ

“And in Christ you have been brought to fullness. He is the head over every power and authority.” Colossians 2:10 NIV

I am hidden with Christ in God

“For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God.” Colossians 3:3 NIV

I have been justified

“Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,” Romans 5:1 NIV

I am God’s co-worker

“For we are co-workers in God’s service; you are God’s field, God’s building.” 1 Corinthians 3:9 NIV

“As God’s co-workers we urge you not to receive God’s grace in vain.” 2 Corinthians 6:1 NIV

I am God’s workmanship

“For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” Ephesians 2:10 NIV

I am confident that the good works God has begun in me will be perfected

“because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now, being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.” Philippians 1:5-6 NIV

I have been redeemed and forgiven

“in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.” Colossians 1:14 NIV

I have been adopted as God’s child

“he predestined us for adoption to sonship through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will–“ Ephesians 1:5 NIV

“”The LORD bless you

and keep you;

the LORD make his face shine on you

and be gracious to you;

the LORD turn his face toward you

and give you peace.””

 Numbers 6:24-26 NIV

ps. I am working on a piece titled “Salvation”

Glory to God.

  1. They are great reminders Calista! Reminds me of Neil T Andersons books about our identity in Christ. He has lists of scriptures to help us see who we are in Christ just like what you have listed above.

    Thanks for posting.
